MURDER, SHE WROTE KILLER ON THE COURT

Jessica Fletcher’s sunny beach vacation with her nephew’s family takes a dark turn in this new installment in the USA Today bestselling series.

Jessica is delighted when her nephew Grady invites her to spend a few days with his family in an oceanside New York bungalow. She packs her bags and heads down to the city, ready to spend some quality time with Grady, his wife, Donna, and their young son, Frank.

But the morning after Jessica’s arrival, Donna finds her boss dead on a tennis court, and Jessica’s dreams of a relaxing visit are quashed. Everyone in the small beachside community is a suspect, and the local authorities—headed by an old colleague of Cabot Cove sheriff Mort Metzger—have asked that no one leave town. Will Jessica be able find a killer and salvage the rest of her trip?

MURDER SHE WROTE KILLING IN A KOI POND

Release date is June 8, 2021. Koi Pond is available for pre-order now at your local independent book store, Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Target and Walmart. I hope you will enjoy reading about Jessica’s trip to visit a long time friend, Dolores Nickens who lives in Columbia, South Carolina. And when Dolores’s husband is found face down in the Koi Pond, naturally it’s Jessica to the rescue.

Say Hi to Jessica Fletcher!

I am beyond delighted to introduce my new writing partner, JESSICA FLETCHER. I am honored to follow in the footsteps of the late, greatly missed Don Bain. I will pick up the MURDER SHE WROTE book series from the wonderfully talented Jon Land. Jon’s latest book with Jessica will be released in November and my first book will be on shelves next spring. That earthquake you feel beneath your feet is me, jumping for joy.

SQUEEZER AND BONGO

Back in the day Squeezer Markham was a bully in high school and John Bongorelli was one of his favorite targets. But time goes by and now Squeezer is the one being squeezed. Will Bongo help him out of a murderous jam?

I am delighted that my short story “Squeezer and Bongo” is on the cover of the June  2019 issue of Mystery Weekly Magazine. If you get a chance to read it, I would love to hear what you think.

Malice Domestic 2019

I was fortunate enough to serve on the Sleuth Duos panel at Malice 2019. Seated: Laurie Lowenstein, Frankie Bailey. Standing: Terrie Farley Moran, Nancy West, Linda Rawlins and our fabulous moderator: Carol Pouliot. We had a great time and the audience feedback was sensational.

Then, of course, there are the people you bump into in the bar area: Linda Landrigan, Editor of Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine is celebrating with me and Mark Thielman, who are both thrilled to have a story in this month’s edition of the magazine.

And then there is the always fabulous Agatha Banquet!

AGATHA BANQUET TABLE 8. Victoria Thompson, Anna Lee Huber, Michelle Vega, Christine Gentes, Marty Wingate, Mary Jo Lynch, Vicky Delaney, Sarah Zeller, Ruth Behling and ME–Terrie Farley Moran! To be honest we kidnapped Victoria Thompson from another table because we wanted her in our picture.

Visiting Copperfish Books, Punta Gorda, Florida

I am delighted that I will be speaking and signing books at the Copperfish Bookstore on Wednesday February 20th at 6pm. We’ll talk about the Read ‘Em and Eat series as well as the New Orleans Scrapbooking series I co-write with Laura Childs. And since chapter one of GLITTER BOMB opens with an exploding float during a Mardi Gras parade, I’m sure we will have a bit of a Mardi Gras celebration as well because the pre-Mardi Gras parades are in full swing in New Orleans. Oh and did I mention giveaways? There will be giveaways!!

If you are in the neighborhood, I’d love to see you.

GLITTER BOMB !!!

Laura Childs and I are thrilled to announce the October 2, 2018 release of GLITTER BOMB, book 15 in the New Orleans Scrapbooking series.

It’s Mardi Gras in New Orleans and scrapbook shop owner Carmela Bertrand is excited to be attending the Pluvius Parade along with her best friend Ava. Carmela’s ex-husband Shamus rides by the duo on his float at the head of the parade, when suddenly the revelry turns to disaster. Shamus’ float crashes and explodes, and although Shamus escapes unhurt, a member of his krewe is killed.

Carmela and Ava plunge into an investigation of the krewe-member’s death, but as they dig deeper it starts to look less like an accident and more like a murder….and Shamus seems less like a victim, and more like a suspect.

WELL READ, THEN DEAD book club questions

I belong to two book clubs (one online and one in person) and both moderators are really good at preparing questions before the meetings so that we always have discussion points. I decided to provide some questions for clubs who are reading Well Read, Then Dead. Feel free to use them or to add your own.

Which character would you most like to have lunch with in the Read ’Em and Eat Café and Bookstore? And what would you order from the bookish menu?

There is a romance in the story that is both unusual and unexpected. Do you think it added to the overall story and to your understanding of some of the older characters?

Did the relationship between the book club members seem authentic?

Did any book club member remind you of someone you’ve met in any book club?

Did you find the history of southwest Florida that was woven into the story made the story more complicated or more enjoyable? A little of each?

If you got the chance to ask the author of this book one question, what would it be?

When a book is set in an existing place like Fort Myers Beach, do you think it is important for the author to stay true to the real life setting?
